ABOUT

Rebecca Gamble is a UK based artist, whose work operates in the practical and theoretical sphere of inter-human relationships, bringing into play modes of social exchange, audience engagement, and processes of accessible communication tools and spaces.

Her work has emerged from sculpting maps of encounters experienced and objects collected during city wanderings and from documenting conversations with workers around Birmingham's Bullring Market place about what they eat for breakfast.

A fascination with how we communicate, interact and relate to each other and everyday spaces has lead to a series of works that test telecommunications and intervene in public places.

Her work is now moving towards relational, game-like events and happenings in which the audience are invited to become active participants and collaborators in the work. Considering the roles, relationships and responsibilities of the artist and the audience and questioning who is receiving what and from whom?
